Wall Mounted Garage Door Opener features Force and Limit Profiling
Mt. Hope, OH (2004)
Wayne-Dalton’s idrive® garage door opener, the first wall-mounted opener of its kind, is packed with features designed to help dealers and consumers alike meet a variety of performance and functionality needs. Force and Limit Profiling, found exclusively on Wayne-Dalton openers, provides dealers with a quick and simple method of setting all limits and force adjustments with the press of a button. From the consumer point of view, Force and Limit Profiling offers enhanced safety and convenience not found on any other ceiling mounted (trolley) opener.
The patented system learns the force required to move a garage door in the up and down directions as well as the up and down limits. By learning the true parameters of a moving door, the system can set a multitude of reversal thresholds increasing overall sensitivity and thus reducing the hazards associated with a moving door.
Force and Limit Profiling garage door openers are recognized by UL325 (UL Standard for Safety for Door, Drapery, Gate, Louver, and Window Operators and Systems). Under the standard, door openers utilizing this system in combination with pinch-resistant doors such as Wayne-Dalton's 9000 series are not required to operate with infrared safety sensors.
All idrive models utilize Force and Limit Profiling. Since the openers do not have manual controls for limits or force settings, miss adjustments which result in top panel buckling are completely eliminated. Furthermore, idrive lifts the door by the counterbalance cables instead of pulling and pushing the top panel, cutting down on panel and hinge wear.
